Travel itinerary
Flight to Trelew & Arrival in Puerto Madryn
Fly from Buenos Aires (AEP) to Trelew (REL) (~2h). Transfer or drive north to Puerto Madryn (67 km / ~1h).
Stroll along the waterfront promenade and visit the Ecocentro, a striking museum dedicated to marine life and Patagonian ecosystems.
Evening: enjoy local seafood and a coastal sunset over Golfo Nuevo.
Península Valdés: Whale Watching & Wildlife
Full-day excursion to Península Valdés, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Stop at Istmo Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center for orientation and views over both gulfs.
- Continue to Puerto Pirámides for an optional whale-watching boat trip (June–Dec).
- Afternoon: drive toward Caleta Valdés for elephant seals, sea lions, and Magellanic penguins.
Wildlife en route includes guanacos, maras, rheas, and foxes.
Return to Puerto Madryn in the evening.
